Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I picked up from Costco "The Miracle Ball Method", also called The Elaine Petrone Method. I just had to share. I am experiencing some back pain lately that is becoming debilitating, so in desperation I thought I would give it a try. It's not an exercise method, it's really a relaxing, unwinding and untightening your muscles methods. It really is helpful...and it also works for pregnant women -- a definite bonus when you can't other things! Just find some time, floor space, breathe and relax on these balls for different pain spots and it's amazing.

Just thought I would pass this along for anyone else who is looking for some muscle tension relief. I'm just one bundle of tight muscles!

An added bonus, my son really enjoys the balls...but they don't harm the house being tossed around, as they are soft.

Jenn,

I have terrible muscle tension in my neck and shoulders, not helped at all by TMJ and life-long teeth grinding. This method sounds very interesting.

May I ask how much the balls cost?

Thanks!

Lisa, I know that pain of TMJ. I had headaches and migraines for years. Finally got braces and wear a splint over my bottom teeth all the time. Fixed most of the pain. But I still am so suceptible to that neck and shoulder tension.

I should have mentioned the cost -- that's the beauty. I first bought the balls with the introductory DVD, marked as "The Elaine Petrone Method" and that was $17.00 (these are Costco prices...these are also available on Amazon, just haven't looked). I bought "The Miracle Ball Method" which includes a small book and two balls for $11.00.

I'm not sure which way you learn better. The Intro DVD was helpful to see how the method is done, but it only covered basic lower back positions and the breathing...important. But the book has instructions for these and other parts of the body, including the shoulders and neck, so that's probably what you want.

I thought it wasn't too much to spend to get the extra balls, so now I have some for my son to play with while I'm relaxing on the floor. The first set of balls is slightly smaller and denser than the second set, but not too noticeable. The balls compress, so it's not a type of balancing or movement.

Hope that helps.
