for my dear friend who is turning 40 and is pregnant with her 6th. Her dh is throwing a surprise bday party for her this evening and I would like to bring something unique...perhaps funny...or yummy...or...

any good ideas that I can get together quickly?

I don't know about unique...funny...or even yummy, but for my 40th surprise bday I received:

Prayer necklace

2 spiritual books
Framed picture of the Vatican after the new pope was elected
Beaded cross necklace
Money...

Cross bracelet

And that's as far back as my memory takes me.

What about Holy Oil of Loreto from the shrine in Loreto, Italy? A powerful sacramental to use for her whole family.

Or a prayer cloth?, I love the look of the "Child Jesus in the Tabenacle" and "The Angelus" prayer cloths. Also Mary, undoer of knots prayer cloth, we always have 'knots' needing to be undone by Mary - something special as well as practical to a Catholic mum.

I just noticed....very quickly, these wouldn't be I'm afraid. A good book is ALWAYS a great gift.

I've never seen the prayer cloths. These are lovely.

Angie, not in time for tonight but a friend of mine does some lovely religious pictures on slate or canvass.
I've seen her slate pieces. They can be hung from a pretty broad ribbon she includes. here's her site if anyone is interested:
