Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Hi!
Well, I went for it with my dh's full blessing and bought a Zo! It was actually one on clearance and with free shipping. I plan on using it with my freshly milled grain.

I just realized I have one problem!!! I have no recipes for bread made in the Zo with freshily milled grain. I've always made my bread with the Bosch. Now I'm a little nervous.

Do you all have any recipes? Do you know whee I could find some? Is there a bread book that has recipes for a Zo and milled grain?

It seems like the Zo has different or more settings than a regular breadmaker. Does this require altering bread machine recipes? THanks for your help! I'm excited and scared.

Check Bread Beckers, they have a cookbook with a recipe for the Zo. They may also have it online. If not I will post it for you later.

Ana,

When I got my Zojirushi (many years back - I was sad when it died), I requested a recipe for whole wheat bread and they sent me a handout. Here's the recipe:

Basic Honeywheat Bread
(quick baking setting)

1 1/2 c. lukewarm water
2 T. cold pressed oil (preferably canola)
2 T. honey or molasses
1 t. salt
3 1/2 c. whole wheat flour
3 T. vital wheat gluten
1 t. dough enhancer
2 t. instant or rapid rise yeast

Follow general directions, using quick baking setting. (Zo's note: if dough rises too high, next time decrease liquid to 1 1/4 c. or less.

My notes: I made it with both store-bought and freshly milled flour - both worked well. The gluten is important; the dough enhancer is optional.

Don't let the settings scare you - I used bread machine recipes from many sources, and I usually didn't have to alter them (when I did, it was usually because we're at high altitude).

Happy baking!
