Has anyone seen this movie or know anything about it? My dd (7) and ds(5) have an opportunity to go but I really don't know anything about it. I am open to any comments. Thanks!

Becky, I took my 3 dc's this weekend (it was rainy and miserable in NY), and we enjoyed it. Here is a review that gives a fairly thorough exam of the situations that different parents might find objectionable. I did think that most of the "language" that they note in their review was difficult to understand, and it went over my head. Except "hillbilly hell," which I heard 2x.
Here's another review, from Decent Films for you to consider.
Overall, we thought it was very nice, and I did NOT regret taking them to it, which has happened before

We saw it this weekend together as a family, our first non-Imax movie as a family. Baby slept through it and my ds8 and dd4 enjoyed it.
It was quite good in comparison to most movies out. I would take them again.
As is usual for most movies these days I'd say the scenes flash by at a rediculously fast pace (tho' we've been tv free for 10 years - so we're quite picky) and the story line was much too complex for my children to really understand at their ages. My son was actually most impressed with the nature scenery - a spectacular waterfall and a mountain-side view of a grand canyonish valley. So that was good.
I'd also recommend planning to come in to the theatre late, we brought the kids in the door late - our theatre had a whopping 15 minutes of previews and most were of "childish" objectionable content that I'd never plan to expose my kids to.
Overall - thumbs up. There was a good guy, a bad guy and some really fast cars - oh and don't miss the cute outtakes at the end.

We went to the drive-in last night to see it. I really enjoyed it a lot. It was creative, funny and nostalgic. Even the couple of situations/statements mentioned that could be a concern to some were so mild compared to what is in other recent "children's" movies. A very good movie overall for the whole family.

Becky, thank you for asking this, as my boys are clamoring to see this one (especially my car-crazy 6 yo ). Thanks for the reviews, Noreen, Amie and Mary!

Oh, I also meant to mention that I really liked the soundtrack for the movie. Considering the recent thread on country music - there are quite a few (Rascal Flatts, Brad Paisley, Hank Williams) included in the soundtrack. Also a great remake of Route 66.

Just saw it. The kids had to drag me kicking and fighting because I just knew it would be torture. Turns out I LOVED it! SOOOOOO FUNNY!
Thumbs up from me and dd4, ds10, dd 16 and dd's boyfriend16. We all loved it. Not many movies can do that!

we took all the kids to see it this past weekend and i thought it was very good. personally, there was only 1 piece of dialogue that i found inappropriate in a children's movie, but it was more of a pun and something that i believe went right over the heads of our 10 and 12yo's. it was the first time Noah (5) and Sami (4) had been to a movie theater, and i feel like it was not a bad decision.
granted, what we deem appropriate for our children should not be used as a guide for yours!
absolutely stunning CG from Pixar...they seem to top themselves with each successive production.
