LOL- just for fun 
My Top Ten (or more... ) List of Math Names Every Homeschooler Should Consider
I have always been fascinated with names- somehow I get notifications from MooseRoots about names that are currently popular, or declining, or unusual, etc. I enjoy reading through those lists, but I have to say that one area of names has been sorely neglected, and with all the emphasis on STEM learning lately, I can't understand why.
So, without further ado, and because I know my homeschooling friends will definitely appreciate this list, here are my Top Ten (or more) Math Names For Babies
(you laugh- this could become a real trend...)
In no particular order:
1. Pi : easy, cute- perfect for a boy or girl, third child
2. Venn: Who doesn't love a Venn diagram? This could be a seriously hip name
3. Arc: Shout out to Archimedes, or geometry in general
4. Infinity: Not just for cars! Perfect math name for a girl
5. Skip: because we all have spent hours teaching our kids to skip count
6. Vector: Way more cool than Victor
7. Ratio: has classical roots
8. Tangent: a strong name; also has good Hollywood potential: Tangent Jones will be starring in the next....
9. Area: forget Ada, Aria, Eva, Ava... these are old, people, and have no math connection.
10. Peri: short for perimeter. Cute girl's name
11. Oval: see Area
12. Trig: no need to say more- way cool for a boy
13. Graph: leaves Graham and Grant in the dust; math makes everything better
14. Plane: combines math with flying... good option for travel lovers
15. Fred (Life of Fred fans will appreciate this one!)
I could go on... see? Math names are seriously overlooked. But I obviously need to get busy having a life (meaning the kids are now awake), so I will leave it you all to add or consider your own options....

I'm thinking some of these are names, right? Maybe some actors' kids?
My husband's name is Cash. It was his dad's nickname and it is dh's real name on the birth certificate and everything. I am asked about this all.the.time! Now the name is popping up everywhere.
I kind of like #4. Could be religious as well.

Ha!
We know a Peri. It is a cute name.
Don't forget Pemdas -- a great hobbit-sounding name which will never allow your child to forget the Order of Operations.
And then there are all the curriculum names:
Saxon
Foerster
Jacob
Lial
Singapore (why not? People name their kids Dakota, Montana, and London . . . )
Miquon (move over, Mignon)
My daughter Ada says no kidding that the name Ada has no math connection . . . or, at least, she would have said that before she started teaching third grade and discovered that her favorite subject to teach is math.

Oh, nice job, Sally. Curriculum names!
What about Khan? A bit sinister, but Khan does math.
And there is always Shiller (at least I think Shiller math is still around...)

Khaaaaaaaannnnnn!!!
(Side note for Star Trek fans: At our local Renaissance festival, Shakespeare's Skum - a Shakespeare parody group - presented Shakespeare Extreme Jeopardy. One of the categories was "William Shatner Presents." If a contestant selected this choice, an actor would recite a famous Shakespeare speech in Shatner style...and yell "Khaaaaannnn!!" at then end. We laughed so hard we practically fell off our bench.  )
