Cash and I are coordinating a farewell party for one of our priests who is being transferred to a parish in Harrisburg. It will be outside in the parish parking lot and we expect about 200 people. We've got the basics covered, but are trying to come up with some clever and fun activities to do during the festivities.
One thing we have is a pin-the-biretta-on-Father type of game. My brother-in-law is making a life-sized cut-out of Father and we'll have various things for the kids to tape on.
He is big basketball fan and we hope to have something related to that.
Has anyone put on or attended an event like this and have other ideas that would be fun and memorable for Father?
Thanks!
Update: I listed some fun things we came up with for Father's party and thought someone could use them if needed. :)

One thing I have seen done is to create a spiritual bouquet for him to take to his new parish. Have paper flowers available at a table for people to write on... good wishes, prayers offered, etc. The flowers can be glued onto a circular wreath or cardboard circle (or pinned), or they can be glued to straws and placed in a vase for him to enjoy looking at and reading.

Thanks, Melinda! Another mom was working on a spiritual bouquet for him.
The life-sized cut-out of Father was huge hit and the kids had fun trying to Pin-the-Biretta-on-Father. It looked so realistic and has been the source of many laughs and good fun!
We created a Bingo Scavenger Hunt game that was also a huge hit. We used a normal bingo grid and put his picture in the middle. We then listed things that people would have likely done with Father - played basketball, prayed at a clinic, been Baptized, had over for dinner, etc. Then it was a race to gather signatures in each spot. Great fun that involved young and old.
We put Father on the Hot Seat and many lined up to ask him a question. Nothing embarrassing. He was a great sport about it and I thought it was a touching moment at the party. Some child asked what he would miss the most, another about his siblings and such, and lastly, my sweet Peter asked, 'why do you have to weave?' :( :(
Father loves basketball so we purchased some mini-basketballs and had Basketball Relays. We kept it simple and separated heats by age.
We also created two Poster Boards with maps and pictures the city he will go to along with pictures and the current bulletin of his new parish. It was great for the kids but I saw many adults looking over those as well.
Maybe someone will be able to use these ideas for a future event. They were simple and fun!

One more thing. My non-Catholic brother-in-law who made the life-sized cut-out and has a funny picture with 'him' at his work, who loves our priest, surprised us with a box of mini-Fathers! We ended up passing these out as prizes at the end and had enough to give to most all kids. They loved them!! We had no idea they would go over so well, but one mom said that our priests are super heroes to our kids and why wouldn't they want these to put on their dressers! Exactly.
