Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I know we have had previous conversations. I'm entry level, but I need something to grow to be able to do professional style pictures (particularly for print publishing).

Costco has Nikon d5300 and Canon Rebel t5i, and I'm wondering if anyone can weigh on from their personal experience.

I've had Nikon in the past and really liked it. I did read that Canon has a touch screen vs. Nikon, which is a good feature to have.

Anyone.

I have a Nikon 3200 that I got last November. From what I was told both the Nikon and the Canon's are good cameras and mostly boil down to personal preference. He recommend the Nikon 3200 because the basic lens that came with the camera was, in his opinion, far superior to the Canon lens that came with the camera. However, I don't know if that still holds true on the new models.

Adorama is a great online company that I can't recommend enough. I have called them many times with help in picking my two business cameras. I have also purchased a bunch of lighting equipment from them as well. Their prices are pretty good. Costco might have a better price but doubt you would get a much better price elsewhere on the web.

I hope that helps a bit. I was REALLY intimidated when I got my DSLR. I dragged my feet forever before I got it. I wish I would have done it sooner. I did take a 1 on 1 lesson with the person that sold me the camera and that was worth it's weight in gold. I barely know what I am doing, but the pictures still turn out rather nice.

Oh, sorry, meant to post. I asked my daughter and like Betsy said, both are good cameras and fairly equivalent in quality and performance. She recommends sticking with brand you are familiar and comfortable with already.
