Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I am thinking of getting a couple of exercise items for my teen boys for Christmas. We already have an exercise bike, and we don't have a lot of room for big pieces of equipment. My budget does not allow for very expensive items either. Please would you share any ideas for home gym items that your teen boys use. I am thinking of some of the following:

Pull up bar

Weight bar

fitness ball

exercise bands

We got something like this balance board for our kids last year for Christmas. It works on balance and core strength. They use it while watching tv or just when they are talking to each other. It's hard to do! My dh and I try it but can't do it very well at all.

My daughter and husband use exercise bands at home; they are also handy to have around if a family member ends up in physical therapy, because you'll need them for home exercises then.

My teenager uses that very same pullup bar. I would say that would be a hit! He takes it down and puts it in his closet (or on his floor!) when he is not using it.
