Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Isn't it funny how certain themes seem to enter you life at different times. Of course there is the Irish proverb that that "Death comes in threes," but I find it happens with things somewhat less morbid as well.

My most recent theme seems to be castles, dragons, knights, etc...

I started thinking early in the Spring that I wanted to combine my boys for history this year to read Our Island Story--the first half anyway. So, lots of history involving Roman times, Arthurian legend, St. George, Medieval history, etc...

Then, in another thread wondering what program to use with my rising by older Kindergartener, and the Logic of English program based around the book "Doodling Dragons" came up. I keep coming back to it, and it seems so perfect to fit into my year of armour, knights, and castles, I felt inspired to more officially make it a theme of the year.

THEN, I come to discover that the German language camp I traditionally enroll my boys in the first to weeks of August that sort of kicks off our school year is using a knights and castles theme! Crazy, right, since this was totally out of my hands.

And, lastly, we impulsively joined a pool this summer and enrolled the boys in swim lessons, and my oldest has been invited to join the swim team. At this point, I think he MUST if only because their team mascot is...wait for it...the Dragons.

Now, I couldn't tell you what fate might be telling me except perhaps my oldest is DESTINED to join swim team, but it is amusing anyway. Any other mind boggling themes that life has thrown you? A series of God-incidences that were either significant or just a fun little dialog between you and God?

I think it's God's way of humoring us.
