Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

the Nacho, according to a sign I saw outside a restaurant today.

And that's fine by me: having a Year of the Nacho sounds like an excellent idea

Along those lines, have you picked your Bird of the Year yet? On January 1 the first bird you see becomes your Bird of the Year. Or, if you are like me and did not know about this charming idea before reading about it at Dawn's blog, then you can find your Bird of the Year the day after you read this. In our case, it was Jan 3.

I wonder what else it's the year of....

Well the Chinese New Year starting on Jan 31 is the year of the Horse.

Don't know about a Year of the Nacho but I do know tonight is the night of the fry bread tacos

Oh yum Jodie! We haven't had those for years- our dear friend, who is Navaho, used to make them.

I think tonight might also be the night of the fry bread tacos
