Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

A friend of ours was just ordained to the permanent deaconate, yesterday in fact. My oldest dd babysits for the family(3 young children) and the younger ones help out at times too. I have a big sister type of relationship with Christina(the wife). We really cherish this family and want to support them as much as we can.

We are meeting with other faith filled mothers Friday evening to bind advent wreaths. This group only meets every 6 weeks or so, because of time restraints and distance. I was wondering if there is any special form for celebrating the role of the deacon's wife in this kind of circle??? I am thinking we should get her flowers or a special prayer book... I don't know really. But I do want to recognize her calling somehow, I just haven't really thought it through yet and was hoping that maybe one of you ladies have had experience with this kind of thing.

If you are a deacon's wife, what would you appreciate???

No advice, but may the Lord bless you for being so supportive of her!    I'm sure any of the things you mentioned would be appreciated.
