I have had a private blog for years and have many blogs I follow, but I have a question. it seems so many bloggers write "7 quick takes". Is it just a method to get people writing? How, where, and by whom did the 7 quick takes get started? Are they all linked?

Conversion Diary, written by Jennifer Fulwiler, is the "home" of 7 Quick Takes. What you do is you write your post, link to Conversion Diary's Quick-Takes post of the week at the bottom, and then provide a link to your post in the link-up widget on her page. Then leave a comment on her post.

I haven't done them in a long time -- I haven't blogged in a long time -- but it's a fun way to get a lot of bloggers together, read each other's posts, and attract more traffic to your blog.

So, that's the Quick Takes deal!

I do Quick Takes occasionally and don't always link back to Conversion Diary. It's a good way to get my blogging juices flowing.
