So, my sons birthday dinner was on the 16th. A day or two later I ordered some photo thank you cards from Walmart. They finally came today. I was very pleased. I opened them up to take a look......
Here is what I found:
the picture I had used, came out as expected. The "Thank you so much!" written on the side AND the personalization: "Thank you for joining us in celebrating our new life together. Mr and Mrs James Anderson."
Umm I forgot to change it!!!!!
So I e-mailed my Grandmother a bit dismayed. She told me to send them out! It will give everyone a really good laugh. I thought about it for oh... about 5 minutes and though if my Grandmother, at the age of 85 thinks it is that funny and worth doing it, so be it. So I will write on the back, Enjoy my whoops! And thank them for the gift.
How is YOUR day going???

That's good you can laugh about it...and make the most out of it. I'm sure it will give recipients a smile.

Absolutely send them out! What fun- sometimes we are so serious. It's good to have a good laugh.

Have to add my blooper for the week...
We are having some trim replaced on our house, and the workmen have been here all week, parking a large van in the middle of our driveway. It is also VBS week here, so each morning I am driving to church in my St. Kateri costume to help teach.
Long story short- because of our funny shaped driveway, yesterday I backed into the workers' van. . I just bounced off their bumper, and thankfully no harm was done, but then I had to get out of the car in full Indian attire with a feather in my hair and talk to the workmen. I'm sure this is not what they were expecting... Sacagewea meets the construction crew

Oh Melinda!!! I nearly peed my pants laughing so hard! That is AWESOME!!!
I was almost upset about it, but when my Grandma cracked up, I knew it would all be just fine. Gotta love those Grandmas!

Here's my embarrassing moment for the week (I hope): I am taking a Cousera art course online. There are over 58,000 students in the class from all over the world. Our first assignment was to turn in a collage. I decided to collage my hands. I tried various positions until I found something that I thought would make a good composition, then I use tissue paper and napkins to collage. I uploaded it and it was assigned to an anonymous peer assessor for grading. My assessment: Colors pleasant, composition good, overall piece highly offensive because left hand making obscene, rude gesture. Now, if you know me at all, I have never used a bad word in my life, I would never knowingly make a rude gesture let alone memorialize it in collage! All I can think is that I was assessed by someone in another country and that I am unfamiliar with their culture's hand gestures! Anyways, I was shocked for a minute or two, and then it struck me as hysterical! I was graded a C for careless insensitivity, but I having been laughing about it all week!
Melinda, I bet you made the workmen's day! Jill, I love your grandma, and I think she is right! I remember my 4th grade catechism teacher telling us that choosing to move through life with a cheerful attitude not only pleases the Lord, but also spreads the Joy of the Lord. I think this is exactly the kind of thing that would make Him smile!

Michelle - that is funny! Did you look at it closely to see what they saw?? Heaven only knows what is out there. I had to be brought up to speed not so long ago because someone outside the house said something and I had no one clue what it meant. My daughter had to pull me aside to explain it..... Yea...
I love my Grandma too, she hung the moon and the stars for my little world.
