It is 44 days until my daughter's wedding.
Next week's Wednesday Shout Out will start with...
It is 37 days until my daughter's wedding
Aiden's varsity baseball is done AS OF TODAY! That should free up some time. He had a great defensive season, among the top in the state (mama brag). His hitting wasn't there but he has all sorts of good support lined up for the summer. Next spring he'll be a senior. Bring it on.
Here's my blog post in reaction to the Boston Marathon explosions: The finish line. I hope you like it.
Allergies have subsided a bit. You?
OK, this was my break now I'm back to talking with Devin about the wedding. She said, "After I'm married I can join 4Real!" How awesome is that?
How has your week been? What are you counting down to?
Love,

I'm counting down to the end of the school year. Three weeks and two days left. Also, counting down to an upcoming free weekend with all the boys going camping and I get to stay home all alone!! I'm also looking forward to a mom's meeting with fellow Catholic homeschooler on Saturday. I know the lady hosting, but otherwise they will be all new people to me. A little nervous, but I really need to get out and be with like minds.
Allergies are better. We have had a ton of rain, so that has helped. This is one reason I'm staying home instead of going on a family scout camp out.
This week has been better than the last several.

I'm counting down to the local Catholic homeschool conference May 31. It will be the first time in 12 years that dh and I go away overnight together. We'll be stayin in dorms, so not the most romantic get away, but it's better than nothing.
We still have several feet of snow here, so no allergies yet, but I'm more than ready for spring--we're all going a little stir crazy.

Counting down to my older son's Eagle Court of Honor, which is next Sunday (so a short countdown!). That same weekend is also First Communions -- I don't have a First Communicant, but I teach that class, so it will be a busy, happy weekend. I'm thrilled for and proud of my son, who worked very hard to achieve his Eagle, but also thrilled for and proud of my FHC children, who are a beautiful lot, I have to say. I'd keep any of them!

I'm co-chair of our Parish Festival's used book sale, so all week I've been sorting books. This afternoon is a big push for set up.
I've got a little snaffoo because my youngest is sick with a fever and cough, and I'm succumbing a bit, also. My oldest will have a game Saturday, so I'm doing a bit of shuffling, but my usual family support are either out of town or preoccupied with their family needs.
So I'm a bit trying to figure this out. Just praying he'll get well soon!

Counting down to tee-ball/swim team/horse show season. Life is about to get even busier just as I will be slowing down! Grateful for precious local friends who are always willing to lend helping hands and sympathetic ears.
Yard work is in full swing. It doesn't look like we will get a garden in again this year. Dh's work hours are horrendous over the next couple months, so we are looking forward to an upcoming overnight get-away.
The weather is warming up! I am very excited to see the sun after several grey days in a row over the past couple weeks.

Also counting down to a daughter's wedding: only 23 days!
Trying to shop for a mother-of-the-bride dress -- I don't think I have bought a new dress for 2 decades! (I usually find what I want at thrift stores )
The house looks like a total mess, because I am spring cleaning.... pulling books out of shelves, boxes out of storage.
It is fun to finally have warm weather up here in the CA Sierras. DH and I have gone on several nice peaceful walks through our National Forest area. This is pretty much the first year we have been able to go off on our own -- Aidan has not had seizures for several years, and his older brothers still at home are able to keep an eye on him without too much worry about CPR and emergency phone calls. We are enjoying occasional dates at the local bar and grill, and just having more couple time.
Unfortunately, allergies are just getting into swing here
I liked your post, Angie. Very thoughtful.

Counting down to my oldest ds First Holy Communion a week from Saturday
Not sure what I'm fighting but I've had a small sore throat and a little bit of night coughing. I'm hoping it's all just allergy related
Looking forward to warmer weather and a few co ops coming to an end for the year (our schedules have been very full because of them)
A year of weddings for sure my dh's youngest sister is getting married in August and we are all just so excited for her. So this event is my much longer countdown since four of my six kids and dh are part of the wedding party. There will be lots of fittings and shopping to do
Nice to join you all this week, enjoy the rest of it!!

Angie, your blog post is awesome!
Dd has a soccer tournament at the beach this weekend. So, we decided to make it a family vacation, too. We've been sick all week, so this comes at a perfect time As for dd, she is worried she won't have the energy for the tournament , since she was hit the hardest. Please keep her in your prayers for a fun tornament.
Countdown to traveling to AZ for a most special wedding has begun here! Well, for me. The kids aren't allowed to start talking about it until May 1st. I usually try not to let them know about trips in advance, for sanity reasons. But this one was too hard to hide. We're so excited!
Still haven't found a dress!
Got some flowers planted in the front yard, cleaned off the green pollen off the porch, started prepping the garden.
My ds finished his school year. Dd still has two weeks left. It was a good school year.

for the mothers of the brides, so exciting!!
We're counting down -- one day until "perfomance weekend" for my kids roller skating show! (it's like figure skating but on roller skates.) All five kids are in it this weekend, so once I get all the costumes and make up on, I bought a ticket for 3 of the shows and am just going to sit and relax and enjoy for the first time ever!
Also counting to my DD's First Holy Communion, her birthday, and our anniversary all within a week of each other. Woo hoo!
After that we start our new school year. I get so terribly burnt out by March that we have always run a sort of April to April school year.

I’m late on this and I have been sort of out of the loop lately around here...but it is always nice to see my girls hanging out here!
I have had a lot going on...what else is new?? Most of it is medical stuff, but nothing too crazy. My second oldest finally called the college of his choice today and locked in....I’m telling ya’, his college decision countdown this week was harder than his birth...I was going to start yelling for an epidural any minute if it went much longer!
One of my guys got Confirmed last week...very nice!
Lily is something else these days, we all sort of revolve around Lily’s World....very willingly I might add. She is a lot of fun!
Waiting rather impatiently for the weather to get warmer for GOOD up here in the North. Good grief, I woke up to a 1/2inch of snow the other day!! Enough!

I'm counting down to...another hectic summer! In the weird world of Irish dance, summer is competition season. We have an ambitious schedule planned. There are some silver linings, though...I'll get to see my nieces in May, and my husband is coming along on that trip and on a couple of other competition trips over the next few months.
We are also counting down to visitors...my parents in June, my best friend and her husband in May or June, my MIL in August and, hopefully, high school aged children of our German and Swedish friends as part of an exchange year in the USA.
Getting school done amidst all of this will be a challenge, but we've recently adapted our approach to world history and Church history, so things are looking up on that front.

I am counting down to so many things
Counting down to:
4/28 - First Communion - for my twins, and I am the Catechist, so for the other 15 kiddos too
5/1 - last day of religious ed
5/5 - last day of the musical that takes more time that I could have imagined (for oldest dd)
5/10 - last day of school for my 3 home schoolers
5/12 - oldest dd's string ensemble concert
5/18 - last AHG meeting and level up ceremony
5/23 - choral concert
6/6 - last day of school for my oldest in Catholic Middle School
Oh and did I mention, I am supposed to give birth in there someplace!? I am trying to convince baby boy to come soon after FHE because it fits our schedule the best.
