Calling all Photographers!

I would like to order a few large prints of my designs to display at my next show.

I only have a point and shoot camera, but I do have a good lightling set up. Here is one of my latest designs and best attempt at photographing my work!.

Anyway, will my camera/set up be good enough to have this photo printed at a large size like 20x24 ish???

Thanks for any help.....

What is the resolution your camera is set for, Betsy? Set it to the absolute highest res. possible. It will take up the most room, but will print the biggest picture. That will determine whether or not it will look pixely (not a technical term, I don't think...but you know what I mean) or not. And depending on the resolution your camera is capable of, you may not be able to print a 20x24" print in good qual.

It could be worth finding a professional camera, or asking a photographer friend to help you out.

I know our local photographer would take a photo like that though I don't know how much she'd charge.

Also, I've gotten larger prints through Rite Aid and when you upload the picture it recommends the sizes that you can enlarge to. So that might also help you figure it out.

That was my follow up question.....if I would *know* if the picture would be grainy, etc before I paid my $$ and got the print back.

i need to make a few phone calls and see if what it would cost to have a professional do this. Unfortunately, I don't have much $$ to work with and the prints alone will be a lot for me.

Do you have a CostCo membership? They do a fine job and their prices are not bad. When you go to pick up the print, look at it. If you do not like it, you don't have to pay for it (but you have to leave the print behind).

I don't have a CostCo membership, but I want one!    The closest one is 30+ minutes away so I am afraid that I wouldn't use it enough. Maybe this is the reason to get one???

I emailed a local photographer to get a quote ont he work. I am not too hopeful as I found another site charging $25 for each piece of jewelry. I am sure that is a fair price for the work....it just puts it out of my range for 3 pieces of jeweler and prints.
