Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Looks like our family will be moving there this summer-- to Andrews AFB. We are running into issues with housing, being that we have to have a certain size house to accommodate our family of 10. I've not heard of laws like this before. Have any of you dealt with this kind of thing before?

Welcome to Maryland, Amy!

Yes, I have heard of these laws - especially since I live in Maryland. Andrews is in Prince George's County, and I'm not sure what their laws are, but there are a lot of counties in the DC area that have passed similar ordinances. (If you're hoping to live on base, then of course their rules apply.) These laws are usually passed not to harm families but to restrict the number of unrelated people who can live together in the same house.

Please feel free to PM me if you have questions about the local area (I am one county away from PG County) or anything else.

This is actually a really fun place to live if you homeschool, because there is SO much to do, and so many fascinating places to visit (and, happily, a lot of them are free, and others have good homeschool programs).
