Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Hello

The lessons of the last year have been weight on Me and I will give you hope.

I think we have finally figured out we were to go next. My husband is still out of work. Less then most I know and I pray for each and every one of you who are there right now.

We have family in Northern Alabama so we are looking into starting a small business in the southern part of Nashville.

How we will HS and start a business is all up to Him. I just know in my bone this what we are suppose to do. So I am giving it to Him.

My question finally, is there any Catholic HS Groups and where are the conservative churches?

God Bless you all and God Bless American

Beth

Nashville is a wonderful place to live, raise a family and homeschool! I grew up there and my dh and I live in North Alabama now. My family and many of my friends are still in Nashville.

There are several Catholic homeschool groups in the Nashville area and some beautiful Catholic Churches. One of the Catholic Churches has a large number of homeschool families that attend and is in the Germantown area of Nashville: Church of the Assumption. In fact, the homeschoolers of Assumption invited me to speak to their group this weekend and I am so looking forward to it!!!

In addition, the Dominicans are in Nashville, and they are a beautiful, growing order of Sisters that support the community in so many ways! Many of the sisters are very dear and special friends of our family, and the Motherhouse is quite beautiful. Many of their recent vocations have come from homeschooled families in the area. They teach at many of the Catholic schools in Nashville in addition to Aquinas College in Nashville, where my Dad is a professor.

Nashville itself is pretty large, but the surrounding areas make it a wonderful place to settle because you can choose whether you want suburbs, city, rural, farm...and regardless of where you settle you can still get to the city easily! I'm biased, but it's one of the most beautiful cities! Lovely parks and green areas for walking and exploring, plenty of shopping, and my favorite (and especially beneficial to a homeschool family): there are so many fantastic thrift stores, flea markets, used book stores.

There are great museums, too! And a fantastic medical community.

Nashville is one of my favorite cities and I love going home!

Good luck in discerning this further, Beth! Here is a link to the Metro Area Catholic Homeschoolers.

Jenn

Thank you so much for the advice. I am so glad to hear.

These last two year have been such a struggle for our family. I am hoping this bring peace certainly no less stress but much needed peace.

My in-laws live near Huntsville it would be really nice to finally meet you.

God Bless

Beth

How far south of Nashville are you thinking? I'm from a little town (Winchester) that is about 50 minutes south of Murfreesboro and an hour north of Huntsville. Jen knows much more about the homeschool scene up there because we've never lived and homeschooled in the area, but if you're interested in rural over suburban, I might be able to help you there.
