Yes, it's that time of year! I'm shopping for nieces!
All preteen girl wish/want/fad info welcome, because my daughter has outgrown all the fads and now wants only electronic thingys for Christmas.
I appreciate your help more than I can say.

Well she's not a pre-teen and we live where there's cold winters but my 15 yr old just asked for one of those blankets with sleeves.

Gift certificates for manicures/pedicures? Or massages? Something that's pampering.

Just bought my preteen(11) dd b'day presents and her favourite gifts was a big teddy, so soft, jewellery and headphones for the computer.

I second the girly/pampering stuff, including nice bath things, lip balms, pretty skin-care products -- girls in that age group really like things that affirm that they're *almost* teenagers. Jewelry is nice, too. My oldest at that age loved those kinds of things, and my youngest is now entering that phase, too, when at least some of the time she wants things that confirm that she's growing up and not a little girl any more (the other half of the time she wants to be a baby, of course!). Currently what she wants is this teddy bear she's seen in the supermarket, that comes with a human-sized blanket . . . I think. I'm a little hazy on the details, having not paid as much attention to it myself when I was shopping. I think it also has an eye-shade for sleeping.
I don't know about fads, but that's the kind of thing I'd look for for girls this age.

I have given my niece lotions, body washes from Bath and Body works. Makes her feel grown up and maybe something that her mom hasn't bought for her yet. Jewelry is always a hit with her too. I think a preteen girl likes stuff that makes her feel pretty and grown up; well at least the the one I buy for. I have no idea on fads these days.

My girls love the "learn to knit/crochet" kits, especially if they come with cute and trendy patterns like fingerless gloves. Also the electronic kitchen gadgets like the mini cupcake maker, mini donut maker and ice cream machine. Bath and Body Works stuff is also a big hit around here.
