being cold!
ALL THE EXTRA LAUNDRY!! I'm not sure if it's cheaper to crank up the heat an extra 5 degrees or keep it at a chilly 68 degrees that keeps everyone wearing double the amount of clothes. Seeing that we had enough money to buy extra propane this year for heating, I am really thinking about turning up the heat and going back to shorts to reduce the laundry. What do you think?
Oh, let's not forget that I have only a couple long sleeve shirts, so I have to go shopping ASAP. I really don't want to spend the money and would rather buy books.
I do enjoy the leaves, a nice chill in the air (outside) is great when you have the proper clothes, and it brings new activities to enjoy.
What do you hate? What do you love?

I love the glorious colors of fall. We were in Pennsylvania this weekend and it was so, so gorgeous!
I also love the lack of humidity. I'd rather be cold than feel hot and sticky any day.
I love the way people decorate their homes during this season of color. Pumpkins, corn stalks, purple mums...so pretty!
I love switching from summer cooking to fall recipes. I can bake again without melting my family members in the process! Brownies are in the oven right now...
I am not a fan of raking, but it's part of the season. Maybe I can get the little ones next door to jump in a pile of leaves...
Yes, autumn is my favorite, favorite season!

SIGH! Texas here and in the 80's today! I sigh because I am jealous of anyone with cool temperatures!

Fall does seem to be an especially busy time of year.. doing any harvest/storing/canning from a garden (if I have one ~ didn't this year), hunting season starting up, all the household winter prep stuff, switching out spring/summer clothes for fall/winter..
but oh that crisp air with a hint of wood smoke, and the trees changing colors, and sipping tea (or hot chocolate) and the fire in the wood stove and flannel robes and slippers...
And yet it's still tee shirt weather in the afternoons

I hear you Jodie.
We throw fall camping into the mix of busy-ness as well. I just love it though! My favorite thing about fall camping is morning. Everyone is cold so we put down the flaps to our screen tent and cook breakfast in there. It warms up in no time and the kids play UNO (nothing else will do) while they wait for hot coco. After breakfast it's a hike to get the blood moving and the scenery is always spectacular.
Camp dinners in the fall are usually things like chili and homemade soups that I brought from home.
I'm sure it all sounds silly to non campers
but the memories are great!

adjusting to it.
It really is a beautiful time of year and my favorite as far as the senses go - smells, tastes and looks so lovely. I just have a very hard time letting go of summer as I love the hot weather and the long days.
But here is to loving fall...
