Have you ever had a weird traffic source? Sometimes I check and I don't see how they get to me. This week it says I've had 8 hits by this really weird cartoony Russian site. I don't get it. I've looked a bit to see if they took pictures or something. I don't know

Anything I should do or not a big deal?

Could it be referrer spam? Sites that show up in your stats but are, I don't know how to put it except to say it 's like spam in your email.

I get that from time to time. If I send it off to Wordpress, they work on blocking those sites.

Hmm... I opted not to publish my blog to google, so I really have very few traffic problems... and wordpress does an excellent job of catching spammer comments.

Although... once when Dan's Dad died, there must have been link trolls that got a hold of his link and I was getting weird referrers for a bit of time, but they disappeared.... which is what I think Tami is saying.

Kacky, I had this traffic source on my blog, too. Sometimes as many as 100+ hits in a day! I think it is a Russian "Google", basically. I took my blog back to private for a while because it was kind of freaking me out. I also didn't post pictures of my dc for a bit; once again, I was a little concerned about who could possibly be trolling my blog.

In retrospect, I think it was just a random kind of thing, not a particular person or group creeping on my blog!

I have reset my blog to public once again.
