This June (29, 30) I'll be speaking at the Alabama Homeschool Expo, offering 6 different workshops:
** Brainstorming a System of Order in the Home
** Organizing the Learning Spaces
** Toy Taming and Management Strategies
** A Living Education using Charlotte Mason's methods
** Planning in Home Education
** Nurturing Wonder in Early Childhood: Montessori Education in the Home
Do any of you attend this homeschool conference/expo? If any of you live around Montgomery I'd love to meet you at the Expo! I know it's early, but let me know if you attend!! I'm so excited to be sharing and meeting other home educating moms - what a blessing it will be! And so much fun - chatting home ed ALL.DAY.LONG!!! I'll have all my baskets and notebooks and booklists and I'm so looking forward to the experience!

Oh, how I wish I did! Sounds wonderful, it would be great if they record the sessions or ran a live online conference. I'd sign up!! I'm checking the site, but I don't see something like that

Paula, it is so wonderful to "see" you again! I have been thinking about you!
Alabama, Alabama... next summer maybe!
Jen, I think we would all love to come to Alabama to sit on your front porch and chat, drink tea, chat and ... even without the homeschooling expo.

Oh my goodness! I just posted in the mom-time thread about my trips to out-of-town homeschooling conferences.
Jen!!!!
Your conference would fit my every-other-even-year-conference-attending pattern. Michele's conference in 2008 and Mary M's in 2010. I just need Meredith to agree to join me and it really would be a pattern!
My head is spinning right now with possibilities. We want to visit some dear nuns in Corpus Christi. Would love to get by Clear Creek and on to Michigan to visit a dear aunt.
I'm going to put these dates on my calendar. Then, God-willing, we actually make a trip out East (well, east from here), I can casually map out the route without dear husband suspecting anything. If I tell him now, it will be one long eye-roll until June!

Whoo-hoo!!!!!!! This is great news, Jen! Those lucky Alabama-homeschoolers. Makes me want to live in Alabama!
OK....OK ......I'll ask what everyone is just DYING to know......
That's all great and all about the "baskets and notebooks and booklists".....but what all of us here at 4real REALLY want to know is......
...will there be a break-out-session on the myriad of ways to use an ALCOHOL WIPE PAD???? .......and will you be bringing samples, complete with a spreadsheet to let us know which ones are your favorites?

I'm sure WHATEVER you do will be fantastic, Jen!!! Even if it IS 1001 Ways to Use Pre-Packaged Alcohol Wipes! Hey, I'd attend that presentation! Wish Alabama was just a bit closer!

Well, of course!!!! How could you doubt me?
Let's see - breakout sessions ala jenmack:
** Alcohol wipes - sanitizing your 4 yo and your entire home with a 1"x1" square.
** Plastic magazine holders - I may have a few opinions ( )
** Adhesive tapes - source of addiction or source of true happiness?
** The tweezer - pinnacle of man's inventive prowess.
** An in depth and philosophical discussion on the different hues of creme paper, to include bonded weight, as it relates to eye happiness.
** How many ways can you use a shoe organizer?
** A step-by-step tutorial for directing your husband's entire check as a direct deposit into Staples in order to purchase the full line of Martha Stewart office supplies just released.
....and a romantic nod to St. Valentine's day.....
** Mylar book covers - remembering with wistful fondness the first time the crinkly transparency slipped through your fingers, igniting a passion of book covering goodness.
So yes....we MUST cover the REALLY important stuff, too!!!!
