Two of my daughter have been invited to a birthday party for friends who are twins. Is it best to bring 1 gift (for both girls from both of mine), or 2 gifts (one for each twin from both of my girls), or 4 gifts (each of my girls gives a gift to each twin)?
Knowing their individual interests, but not what they already own, I am leaning toward two $15 Barnes & Noble gift cards from both my girls. Would this be appropriate?

I think so. My boys aren't twins, but their birthdays are two days (and two years) apart, so if we have a party, it is for both of them.
Now, personally, I would just assume no one brought gifts, so take this fwiw, but I would NOT expect each of your daughters to bring a gift to a party for one of my children, let alone two. We also tend to have "family" parties, but even if we had a "kids" party, lots of siblings would be invited, and we would view each "family" as a guest and assume any gift was from the whole family.

I agree with Lindsay. Any gift we give is from the family and/or however many of our children go to the party. And it's been that way when siblings come to our parties too.
I would get each child the party is for a seperate gift unless there's something bigger that would work well for sharing AND you've talked to the parents about getting them a combined gift.
A gift certificate for each girl from both of your girls will be perfect imo.

In this case, I would definitely do two gifts: one for each twin, from your family as a unit. Like Jodie said, a larger gift that they both could share would also be fine, but only if it's something "easy" to share.

GCs sound good to me. We also like to give gifts that the entire family can enjoy - GCs to the movie theater, to a mini-golf course, to an indoor pool, a museum, etc.
I would think one gift for each girl, unless you do a family outing GC.

I have twins and definately second the one gift for each girl from the family as a whole...or if a gift, like a game, could be to both of them, they are probably used to sharing...ours share everything. I often hear them say, "It's o.k. for you to drink this after me...we have the same germs." LOL!

Too funny!!
I'd third the 'gift for each twin, but one each from your family.' My rule of thumb for parties is a set budget (around $10) but when more than one of my dc is invited to a party I spend a little more ($15).
