Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Dear friends of ours recently announced that they are going to be adopting a child within the next several months after years of struggling with infertility. To say the scene in my house when they announced this was joyous is putting it very mildly.
Would it be out of place to send a card that is of the "Yippee! You're expecting!" variety? That is the joyful reaction in my heart, but I don't want to take a chance of offending.

Thanks,
Melissa

What about a cute "Congratulations!" card? You could add a note saying how happy you are that they are adopting a child.

Absolutely! Hopefully they won't encounter people who think an adopted child is not their real child but chances are high that they will.
When they do, the memory of your card will soften the blow and make them realize how much you embrace them and their new child.

i'm pretty sure you can find adoption cards. if not, send a "you're expecting" card. afterall, they are expecting a child, just in a different way.

If you type "adoption congratulations greeting cards" into the search engine it looks like there are some sites that have cards specifically to congratulate friends/family on their adoption. HTH.

That is such a lovely thought to send them a card to show your love and support at the time of this joyous and momentous step in their life.

I think it's a lovely thought. I can't think of anyone that did that for us when we adopted our 3YO.

I would have loved getting a card like that when we were waiting for our adopted children to be born!
