Hi, this question is for PA residents or former residents (I'd e-mail/call you Angie, but I wasn't sure this is a good time b/c of Dave's condition) -- we recently moved to Ohio, and our old school district is demanding that we inform them where our children are registered now. The way I understand it, we are only legally required to do this if we were relocating within the commonwealth. Anybody know?

I did find out the answer and posting here just in case anyone else encounters this. I was trying to find the thread about someone considering relocating to PA so I can post it there but a search turned up nada.

At any rate, I spoke with someone at the PA Dept. of Education, and she said there is no law that says I have to inform the old school district since we are now out of their jurisdiction. It's just another example of PA school districts asking more than what the law requires.
