Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Don't panic! Lissa has decided to put off having the baby a bit longer in order to organize those questions (that are all rolled into one thread) into several different threads for easier future access. In the meantime, feel free to start new threads, titled with new questions.

Thank you, Lissa, for postponing the birth of your child to take care of my computer and blog related questions.

Well, I'm back a week after the birth and I got all (I think all) of the blog threads moved to the Fireside Chat archives. Look for posts titled Blog Q & A.

The info on reading blogs w/ Bloglines may be of interest to non-bloggers and bloggers alike!

Oh! Thank you so much! This is a great resource! I love it when the archives show their stuff. God bless you, Lissa!

Don't you think we should get a group rate on Typepad subscribers? Seems like y'all are great salesmen for them and we should recoup some of the costs,.....

Seriously! My husband keeps saying Typepad should give me a commission!

I've seen the Technorati Tags at some blogs. Could anyone tell me more about this?

Bumping this because I'm curious too.

It's another way to bring traffic to your site and also to help people find posts on relevant topics. If you use Typepad, you can ping (trackback) Technorati with each post, and it'll tag your posts with your Typepad categories. Since Blogger doesn't offer categories, tags are a way to organize your Blogger posts. But I use tags on Typepad too, because my Typepad categories aren't necessarily useful as tags (like my "family adventures" category).

If you enter the HTML for a Technorati tag at the end of your post, and ping Technorati, anyone searching that tag will see a link to your post. Like this: do a Technorati tag search for baby sign language. Why lookie there!

Here is a sample of the HTML for a tag:

< a href="http://technorati.com/tag/Unschool" rel="tag" >unschool</a>
(Remove spaces before/after brackets.)

For tags with more than one word, put a plus sign between the words, no spaces: baby+sign+language. (In the HTML brackets only, not the part that shows up on screen.) Or Technorati will generate the code for you--look in the upper left column on the baby sign link above.

And here is the URL to enter in your trackbacks box:
http://rpc.technorati.com/rpc/ping

Probably only worth bothering with if you're looking to increase traffic to your site. Tag searches are a fun way to find new information on a topic.

Thank you for taking the time to explain all that, Lissa!
