Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I shared my story before, I've only just returned to the Church in the past few months. I'm still working on it, but it's coming.

Spiritually, I'm feeling much better, better than I have in years, God is good ;)

Now, life happens, as it usually does. Dh has been contemplating leaving his job. Not a big deal, for most people, but we went through a period in the past where he went through 9 jobs in 3 or 4 months. He wasn't let go, he'd leave for another job because he didn't like it, he was very unhappy. He says he isn't going anywhere but he keeps talking about other opportunities.

Add that to the fact that since I started homeschooling, I decreased my income. When I started homeschooling I was making $1200 more per month than I did this past year(run a home daycare). I cut back so I could take time with my girls.

I recently had to let one family go because it wasn't good for my kids or me. Another family was blessed with another baby so they were finishing with me. Another child is starting preschool in the fall and was reducing to 2 days a week. It would leave me with 1 full time and 2x a week. That would pay groceries, and not much else. The changes were reducing my income to a 1/4 of what it was this June. Very scary for me. We have some heavy fees coming due as well.

I have been working prayer into my daily life. Not just handing over my worries, but being thankful for all that I have. As Fr. Jim told me, let your knees hit the floor before you're even awake. Before you head to the washroom, to the kitchen, before you get distracted, invite him into your day. Be thankful for everything. Hand over what ever is causing you to fret. I've been doing this. I haven't been able to attend every Sunday, but it seems I'm there more often than not, I always have an offering. I routinely bring donations for the church mission as well. I shop with this in mind.

Yet, I still am a worry wart. I can't just let things go. But......

Little things have started happening. My mom directed me a news clip. From there, I started researching, and I learned to coupon in a way that gets me several things free, I've saved an insane amount of money, and have the beginning of an emergency supply of products should we have a cash crisis due to loss of income. I have now cut my grocery bill nearly in 1/2. I've shared this blessing by donating several things to the mission.

This Sunday after getting home from church, the phone rings. Some one is looking for childcare, temporary, but still, enough to cover some of what we have to pay, and in time to pay it too, combining it with payday! I interviewed the family Monday, they started Tuesday.

God is GREAT!

Wednesday, the family that recently added to their family asked if I would take both the little girls in January. THANK YOU, LORD!!!!!

Thursday, the family that was switching to part-time has decided to keep paying me full time because their plans for part time aren't going to pan out, it was dependent on grandparents who have changed their mind, and won't be consistent! Now they know they won't need to take time off because the grandparents have other things happening. And talked about possibly keeping him here the next year when he's in Kindergarten as the bus will bring him here. He's been with me since before he turned 1.

Thursday evening, dh informs me that he isn't planning on changing jobs, he's no longer job hunting. He did some thinking, then did some talking with the higher ups, and got the crew he needed, he's now very happy to be at work. He's working with compatible personalities.

Now my bills will be paid, I can continue to build a savings account for emergencies, pay off our debts in a timely and much quicker fashion.

I don't know if it was due to prayers, I want to believe it is. I never asked for all of this to resolve as it did. Just some stability and peace of mind, to trust all will be well. If it meant a new job for dh, so be it, I was stressed from the maybes. The childcare picking up was a real bonus for us. I'm so incredibly thankful and feel so blessed for all He is doing in our lives.

I have to say, prayer is so refreshing, it still hasn't come naturally, but I do see changes for it.

We were in quandry about ds17. He's in an apprenticeship program through the school board, but he hadn't found placement this summer. He was due to return to school August 22 if he hadn't found work. Then we got a letter stating if he wasn't working by January 28th, 2012, he'd no long be considered an apprentice through the apprenticeship board.

Dh was saying just let him got to school. But it would put him back so far in his career choice(up to 3 years). I didn't know what to do. That Sunday, I prayed and asked for guidance, to see which way I should go. Then Monday, dh sent me info on a business hear his work hiring. Another company finally called back, but stated they weren't hiring until end of September. DS didn't want to call. I told him at the very worst it was a great way to get cold call experience with prospective employers. To my surprise, after he stomped downstairs, he did call. He'd set up an interview. Now he was excited. I drove him to the interview, they had some concerns with his age and wanted to speak with HR before hiring him, but would get back to him that afternoon. 1pm, they call and tell him if he passes their drug and alcohol testing, he had the job. They even discussed him returning after his semester of school if they (company and ds) were a good fit. They are allowing him to leave on dad's hours as he doesn't have a drivers until late September.

I didn't ask for a job, I just didn't know what to do with him, then it just fell into place. Now if only all things could have such concise direction. But I know all things on God's time :) not my time.

The wonderful thing about prayer is that it reminds us that God is God and that we are His beloved children. He doesn't need for us to pray in order to bless us, He delights in giving good gifts to His children, but *we* need to pray in order to see His hand more clearly and to remember we are beloved ones in His sight.

Thrilled at these wonderful blessings in your life! Thanks be to God!!

Ask and you shall receive! God helps those who help themselves! Through God all things are possible!

I live by these! It was your faith, helping yourself and asking for God's guidance that has gotten you to this point. If you really want to test the waters, stop praying. Believe me, once you stop praying and helping yourself, things stop working out. Then when you decided to start praying again, it takes 10 times longer than your first experience to start seeing the results.
