Oh, Chari, you sweetie you! 
Thank you all for the dear birthday wishes.
They mean a lot.
It's a rude awakening to have your dh out-of-town on your b-day...even though he did call this morning to wish me a happy one.
I know he needs to be with his father right now, but I can't help but feel second-class. You know how it is. There's one day out of the year that's your special day and, for some selfish reason, we want it to be special in every way.
But life isn't like that, is it. 
I would only admit this to you gals. I'm embarrassed just writing it out.
Ah, well. I'm healthy and my family is healthy (with the exception of pawpaw)  and I'm rejoicing for the wonderful years and family He has given me.
What I'm trying to get out is how grateful I am for these lovely b-day greetings. I'll hold them near and dear to me the rest of today.

Cay, I'm glad you wrote it out...I had my birthday last month and my dh was sick with a stomach virus. Instead of being honored, I had to serve. All plans fell through for the whole weekend and my day was lost in the shuffle. I never even got my special restaurant out meal. I felt the same way as you, and had to bring it to prayer. It was a struggle!

Happy belated BDay, Cay! I couldn't post yesterday but read about your special day and offered you up a prayer. We're praying for Paw Paw and your whole family as well.
BTW, our family celebrates Bdays belated if necessary. My Bday is in December and I remember one year we didn't "get to it" until February . The only must-have on my actual Bday is something baked (one year it was a store bought pie) with a candle (one year it was a stick of some sort set on fire) and the singing of Happy Birthday to You (thank goodness nothing can mess THAT up .)
