My sister is getting married in December
I need some ideas please? I will have 4 boys 6yrs down to 6 months and my brother has 4yo and 8mo boys and 3yo girl (ages at time of wedding in Dec) My sister would like a way to include her niece and nephews, but she is afraid an almost 3yo is to young to be a flower girl, and how would you include a 6 yo, 2 4yo and a 3yo boy? That is too many IMO for ring bearers, but how can you choose just one... Any ideas that you have seen or heard of for including a bunch of little kids in some way? (this will be a church wedding, with a luncheon afterwards if that matters)
Thanks!

A december wedding can be so pretty! I agree that an almost 3 year old will be iffy walking down the aisle and not being too squirmy. Some ways to include the littles that can include a mom as supervisor if necessary: letting the kids bring up the gifts, letting them place a rose in a vase for Mary or to honor love ones who have died, let them hand out the bubbles or bird seed to throw at the end.

Now I haven't seen this done at a wedding but for Novena masses our church has children (boys and girls) dress up (the boys wear robes) and they process down the aisle each carrying one flower to place in a sturdy vase at the front of the church before being seated in the first row.
There are also older helpers who process behind the children to ensure that the flowers end up in the vase and the children in the pews.
At Christmas Eve every child was given an little LED powered tea light and just before Mass started they were all called to process to the Nativity scene to place their lights before Jesus. (after Mass they were allowed to each collect their light to bring home).

Maybe one of the older boys can escort the little flower girl?

There's no reason they can't process without being ring bearers.. and then just move into a front pew instead of standing with the wedding party.

Vanessa,
Actually in Cuban culture (and a lot of hispanic cultures too) we have a mostly child centered court, think Kate and Will
They carry a garland (which would be beautiful for Christmas time)
Think of it like the ropes kids use at preschools with loops. The oldest child leads and the next oldest ends the garland with all the little ones in between. I wish I had a picture of my best friend's wedding uploaded, it was spectacular and with all 10 of her nieces and nephews!!!
The garland is used as some sort of decoration.
At another wedding, the little ones all took flowers that were put into a vase at the feet of Mary.
They all sat with their parents or assigned adults if their parents are in the wedding party.
And can I just say what a blessing that your sister wants to include ALL of her nieces and nephews. Even if they aren't all in the procession, it is so nice that she just can't decide:)

Last year, one of my DH's sisters got married and wanted to include all her neices and nephews (there are 15). What she did was to have one of the 5 yo girls and 7 yo boys be the "main" ringbearer/flowergirl (they stayed on the altar, etc). Then the other kids, down to 2 yo, each walked up the aisle with a flower and returned to the pew with their parents.
