Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Forgive if I'm not allowed to self-plug in this manner, but this one isn't entirely self-serving as I think both of these 'plugs' are right up the ally of interests for the ladies who visit these forums.

Now, I've blogged on and off for years but God has directed my family and myself to be out of the public eyes (via social networking that is) for a number of reasons. But I can't get rid of my desire to write. This is happily finding it's channel in two different venues.

One is the journal for simple Catholic mothering that I write in and help publish, called Soul Gardening... it's a real, printed journal with a couple hundred subscribers so far... we have a limited, fledgling website up at http://www.soulgardeningjournal.com that unfortunately doesn't offer you a great idea of what's in the journal yet but I can tell you that each issue offers liturgical/seasonal reflections and poetry, "The Thrifty Wife" (frugal domestic tips), recipes, a book review, "Root Children" (seasonal nature activity ideas), guest writers, funnies, original drawings and a few articles and essays on topics pertinent to mothering. We publish once a season. Summer's issue is getting ready for print very soon! As you know, this isn't a print-friendly age, and we are not making any kind of profit from the work we do... we are lucky if we break even each issue. But we've received extremely positive and inspirational feedback and hope to stay in print by increasing our readership.

Secondly is a blog I started early this month that is dedicated entirely to my passion for children's literature, especially picture books. I just seem to be further solidifying this obsession and I'm having fun getting to write about the books I love whenever the fancy strikes without the temptations I faced when blogging about my life or family.

Since so many of you gals here love children's books like me, I thought you might want to peep in on that occasionally: http://www.bibliozealous.blogspot.com. I like to write about my thrift-store finds, make top-10 lists, highlight our library pick of the week, and discuss other booky things that die hards might appreciate!

Anyway, thanks for reading this.
