Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

It is looking like I might be able to go this year! (Don't say that too loudly...in recent years it has not worked out!) So, anyone else considering going to theIHM Conference the second weekend of June?

I plan on being there, Caroline. I usually go when it opens on Friday, but I also want to hear some specific talks and I'm waiting for the schedule to be released so I can plan.

I think I'll come up Saturday a.m. early; I'm waiting on the talks schedule, too. There is a possibility I'll try to come up Friday and spend the night if there are talks I'd like to attend that night. I'd love to meet up with all of you there! As the time gets closed, maybe we can make some specifics plans !

Got the schedule! If my babysitter situation works out and my sister doesn't have to have her baby early...I'll be there around noon on Friday for a few hours, return for some evening talks (have to see Dr. Dominic Aquila, as he was my mentor at FUS). Saturday is a bit up in the air, but I'd really like to hear Elizabeth Yank and Sr. Mary Joseph Heisler and Virginia Seuffert...and Andrew Pudewa...

Long list!

Let me know if you're going to be there so I can look for name tags. I love to chat!

and I have to say I usually don't squeeze in the talks because I'm visiting. Some of my favorite vendors will be there, like Margot from Hillside Education, and Michele will be selling her planners, Sonya Romens will be there, and also Linda from Sacred Heart Books.

I have lots of visiting and buying to do!

I am almost positive I am going. I just have to figure out babysitting for Sat (my DH has to work a half day). I am hoping to find a cheap hotel. I am so excited about the speakers and the vendors! Hopefully I will run into some of you!

I'm looking forward so much to meeting up with some of you! My dh and I are staying up at the conference on Friday night, and we will be there probably until about 2-3 Saturday. Michele, maybe I'll get a better chance to talk to you! It will be nice to see you again, too, Margot!

Jenn, I'll try to give you a call Friday afternoon. Do you have texting? I know we will be in and out of the presentations. I'm super excited to meet you IRL!

The location is different this, it's the big half-round hotel closer to Dulles Airport (Hilton Washington Dulles). The downside of this venue is the vendors are spread out on many floors. So many of them are pleading to make sure you go and visit all the vending areas...even the ones down in the basement and the little rooms off to the side!

Neat! I always think of Chantilly as a newer little town; never thought of anyone calling it their hometown!

Jennifer,

Chantilly was there when we moved to Virginia in 1969. I don't think it was even a dot on the map. I can give you stories of the area. I remember when Fair Oaks mall was a golf course, my forest where I used to play is now the Fair Lakes complex, there wasn't even a light at West Ox Road and Route 50. Oh and 66 wasn't even there yet.

Those were the days. LOL

Well, I just sat down and looked at all of the talks at the conference and there are 2 I want to go to at every time scheduled, except for one! They have a lot of great talks this year. I hope I have time to go to the vendor hall!!!

Yes, there are a lot of great talks. The Teacher Training Track looks good to me.    I'd like to attend the memorization talk, the teaching strategies talk, and the talk by Dr. Moran on obedience for my special needs son.
I haven't even figured out what to attend on Saturday yet, but that's also up to dh, who will be with me on that day . My most "needed" talk is probably "Fitting in Fitness"...a constant struggle!

I hear you. I was put on bedrest with my last child and gained 50 pounds. I still have 30 left to lose (and he is 13 months). I am starting to get a little worried about it!!!!

Bumping this...countdown time!

I'm busy making my list of books I have and need. First time I'll be prepared. I just hope my sister doesn't have her baby on that day...

I am planning to be there Friday around noon to do some book shopping...have to be back for the dance carpool, though, so I doubt I'll have time for attending any talks.
