Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I have the honour of being a Confirmation Sponsor

When I asked my Confirmation Candidate what she would like as a gift, she replied a picture of Mary for her room.

Any suggestions of who might sell them and from where?

Thank you!

Suzanne recommended this artist who is in her area - TCL Portraits. I've ordered from her and think they are quite lovely.

Catholic to the Max has lots of classic options.

Thank you Mary - the ones from TCL Portraits ARE LOVELY! I had never heard of her before!

And thanks too for the recommendation to Catholic to the Max!

I will forward these links and let her decide!

A few years ago I purchased this print of the Immaculate Heart of Mary to hang in my girls' rooms. I found some nice mahogany frames from a local framing store (nice, but not expensive frames), and framed the prints myself. My girls love this print

What nice options I haven't seen before!

I must say that while I love SO many different images of the Blessed Mother, I find none as stunning as those by Bougereau. I just love them all, and they are all readily available as prints from a variety of places including various details from the paintings. My personal favorite is the Pieta (a bit heavy for a girl's bedroom), but Song of the Angels and L'Innocence (and all the others ) are just lovely as well.

I'd be careful just searching his name on a non-Catholic site, though, with kiddos around. Some of his depictions of Greek and Roman mythology are quite startling for little eyes.
