Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Has anyone read "All Things Guy"? I'm looking for something for my 9 year old as he sloooowly matures. Can anyone here review it or recommend something else?

We are about half way through reading this with all my boys (and girls) aged 3-11. I really like it. My boys are enjoying it too. So far there has been nothing which is tmi. The focus has been on vocations and responsibility and virtue. I think later in the book there is more about hygiene and dressing appropriately etc - but (from a quick thumb through) there is nothing inappropriate. I must mention that in the media chapter there is a reference to stds (very brief in the same sentence that drugs are mentioned) - I just omitted this when reading out loud.

This book seems to me to be much more appropriate for my guys then any of the secular books I have thumbed through which have way tmi for 10 year olds.

I know that many people did not like the girl versions of this book (I have not read them) - but I think this book is good - so far!

Other books that my 10 year olds have been reading:

Lessons in Responsibility for Boys
Boyhood and Beyond
Created for Work

Hi Marilyn,
I was wondering what you thought of the whole book now that you've probably finished reading it?

How was the section the the body?

I have a 11 and 12 year old boys and I was looking at this book for them.

Thanks!
