Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

For those who are new or don't recall, we have a tradition and policy on this board of closing at some specific times during the liturgical year. This is just a reminder of those closures associated with the Lenten Season.

The boards will be closed tomorrow in order to observe Ash Wednesday. The boards will also be closed during Holy Week - Palm Sunday to Easter Monday.

All the moderators hold everyone's intentions close to their hearts as we enter this holy season and we wish all members a fruitful Lenten journey.

God bless you all.

In addition to the board closures which occur to coincide with some specific times during the liturgical year, each spring there is also a scheduled board closure of a few days for a moderator working retreat. This year it will fall close to our Holy Week closure so wanted to add it to this thread to help keep all those dates straight.

Spring Moderator Retreat - March 20-22, which means that in addition to the weekly Sunday closure, the 4 real boards will also be closed Saturday and Monday of that week.

Also a reminder as announced at the beginning of Lent (first post in thread), the 4 Real boards will be closed from Palm Sunday (March 28) to Easter Monday (April 5).

We realize it will be quite a bit of down time in late March and early April. Hopefully it will be a peaceful and prayerful time for all and everyone will return renewed and refreshed in the joyous Easter season!

Hey gals! Just wanted to remind you that the spring retreat is coming up at the end of this week beginning this Saturday. We'll all be jetting to the South Seas for a siesta under a palm tree whilst Penbrook patiently delivers Mint Juleps and Lemonade Spritzers to our beachside chairs. KIDDING!!!!! Though I wish I weren't!!!

Be assured that all of the moderators and managers will hold the intentions of all the members in their prayers during this retreat, and we would be grateful if you would remember our intentions as well.

And, just as a reminder...

to all of you ladies! You're the best!

Hey Lovely Moderators,
I'm so thankful for the time, effort and prayers you sweet gals put into keeping this place a kind and thoughtful place. I'll be praying that your retreat is refreshing.......please have a spritzer for me!

I did have one suggestion I wanted to toss out.

I was wondering if the board closure announcements could maybe be posted on the front page of the forums near the welcome notice and prayers instead of in a post. I ask this because on Ash Wednesday I came here wanting to post and had somehow missed the closure announcement post. Realizing I had missed something, I tried to search for an announcement post but wasn't able to find it.   I was thinking it might be easier to place it up front. Just a thought......

Blessings to you all!

We have wished for a tech option like that as well. We know it would help to clarify when members didn't see or don't remember the closures. It depends on the availability of our tech person to do this. So, yes, great idea. We'll try.

Hey, that's a great idea, Martha!

We'll see what we can do! An announcement on the home page would be nice for those that might have missed the post.

Thanks!!!!

We'll return Easter Monday with our promised fresh new look for the boards, and a new Planning Forum - Planning and Ordering Our Days - to share with you!

We Pray To the Lord will remain open during Holy Week for prayer support.

The moderators are grateful for all your prayers, and hold all of your intentions in their prayers during Holy Week.

God bless you all!

I am SO very glad we leave the prayer forum open during Holy Week. It feels so appropriate to spend a week focusing on prayer amongst each other.
