Usually DH and I are very on top of picking baby names, but we've been having a difficult time this time around. Our boy name is the same one we've had picked out since I was pregnant with Sophia: Nicholas Gerald (Gerald is FIL's name).
For a girl, we've finally (and this is late into a pregnancy for us to be agreeing, we usually know by 8 weeks or so!) decided on Gianna for a first name.
We can't, however, come up with a middle name that flows well. Our other girls full names are: Sophia Elizabeth, Hazel Grace, Lucy Marie, and Elizabeth Nicole.
DH suggested my grandmother's first name Alice. Gianna Alice Day.
Any suggestions?! I feel like maybe we're having a boy since we can't agree on a girl's name this time.

My friend's daughter is Gianna Agnes Mary (to honor family members as well as St. Gianna).
If you want to go all-Italian, Alessia ("Alexa" in English) is a very popular girl's name in Italy right now.

Assuming you are pronouncing Gianna the Italian way (more like John-a rather than Gee-anna)
What about Gianna Terese? Gianna Rose? or Gianna Clare?
We just found out that we're having a little girl, too...so I am on a serious girl name kick !

Our two friends with Giannas (one is 4 and one is 3) both have Therese as middle names.
They pronounce it the French way, not with the long e sound at the end.

I don't have any other worthy suggestions (so many already offered) ~ but am a bit envious that you're picking names . My littlest is almost 10 months old, that's old enough to add another, you think?
My husband names, or has named, all our girls, and our dogs for that matter! He has a way with names!
... I'm looking forward to hearing what you decide upon!

personally I love Alice ! Gianna just sounds so nice with the name and it gives me that old time feel when girls like our gramms had names like Emma , Grace , etc. I personally wouldn't look any further then what you already have been given

Our oldest daughter is Gianna Therese (short e for both of the first e's). We often call her Gigi.

I was going to suggest Rose as others have. I think Rose works so well as a middle name. Our newest is Veronica Rose

I like Rose and Alice as well. I'm trying to get Alice in the running for a first name around here because it's a variant on Elizabeth which dh likes and I don't (it's my middle name). But we have so many girls names we love I don't think we'll ever use them all.

I've always understood Alice to be from Adelaide.. other variations include Alicia, Allison
I would probably use Alice or a variation like Allison.. but then I like middle names that reflect family.

Friends of ours have a Gianna Rose and our youngest granddaughter is Gianna Rose, so I'm a little partial to the name! Gianna is such a lovely name!

just watch initials, tho.
GAD = Generalized anxiety disorder.
(or people going, "Eegad!")
we were not careful with oldest's middle name.
it is occasionally a real thorn in her side. and she likes to let us know about it. <roll eyes>

I love baby naming! I especially love the saint from which the name comes. I am sure you are all familiar.
Here's one link:

I really do like Gianna Emanuela, the name given to St. Gianna Beretta Molla's daughter. We named our daughter Gianna Elizabeth Marie though in hindsight I think staying with all Italian names would have sounded better: Gianna Elizabeta Maria. I am unsure of the spelling though.

I am experimenting to see if I can link it. Thanks for your patience! If it fails, maybe someone can inform me as to how to do it.
