Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

If any of you can watch Oprah today, the Sisters of Mary Mother of the
Eucharist are going to be on today, Feb. 9. Can you believe it?

A homeschooling friend passed this on to me. We don't have regular TV, so won't be watching, but I hope some of you will! Lyda

The Sisters have been invited by the Oprah show to be on the show and the
program will air this Tuesday February 9th (which also happens to be the
13th anniversary of their founding), so as they say, check your local
listings for the time and channel in your area! The Sisters had a film
crew at the Convent last Tuesday and on Thursday four of the Sisters were
brought to Chicago to be interviewed in studio. I know some of you out
there have particular feelings about Oprah and there has even been some
comments on some of the Catholic blogs out there about whether it is
"appropriate" for the Sisters to be on this "type" of talk show, but as
Sister Maria Guadalupe herself said to me in an email--what a great
opportunity for the Sisters to be heard by a completely new audience that
wouldn't normally have the chance to hear their message. And its very
exciting for us that know the Sisters to see their Convent and schools and
their day to day activities on a nationally televised show! As for Sister
Maria Guadalupe specificaly, she was not interviewed individually on
camera while they were filming at the Convent but if you look closely you
might catch a glimpse of her in one of the shots! There are a couple of
links I've pasted into this message for some of the weblogs that are
talking about the Sisters apperance, including a couple with pictures of
the camera crew filming at the convent. I will also try to forward the
general email that the Sisters sent out announcing it in case some of you
aren't on their mass email list. Also if there is anyone that you think
might want to know about this news and you don't see their email in the
list above please forward this on to them. Thanks.
