Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Tell me something goofy your pet does...

Our cat plays cars with my ds. She sits in the middle of his match box track and waits for him to come play with her. She gets so excited when he zooms cars down the track. She tries to catch them. She sits on the track, rolls on it and tries to push the cars with her paws.

Gotta love our pets!

Our cat likes to eat paper when he doesn't want the food put out for him. If the children leave out a worksheet or a drawing pad, "Julius" knows no mercy and attacks it ferociously!

My two cats "nurse" on our two year old golden retriever. We got them as kittens and I guess they thought she was their mommy. Now they are about 8 months old and still doing it. They also both cuddle up with her to sleep.

Our dog adopted a day old kitten this summer, and actually nursed it and raised it. Now she has her own pups (anyone want one?)

Also she likes to say grace with us. She sits up nice and tall with her nose pointed down until we say "amen." She also sings the doxology with us (which is rather distracting and humorous, so I often put her out when we are going to do this).

We had three ducks. Two hens and a drake. The hens quacks, quack, quacked all day long. Every so often the drake would say, "quack." The fall back into silence.

The drake and one hen were lunch for the neighbors dogs, but the surviving hen we named Jemima, of course. Jemima loved my 15 passenger van's chrome bumper because she thought her reflection was another duck! She quacked all day into my bumper, from morning to night, she talked with her "window friend". When I had to go to town, she would chase me down the driveway and down the road calling after her friend! When she couldn't catch me, she would see the "bright shiny thing" in my neighbor's bumper and go see that "window friend" until we got home. Then, when we returned, one of the kids had to go bring her home...

Our neighbors think we are weird...
