This is my number one biggest fear, having my children taken from me for some bogus reason. I feel sick to my stomach thinking of how children must feel who are ripped from their parents  Especially children, like mine, who are never away from a parent I will be joining you in prayer as well for Julie's family and all families who are suffering in this way, especially this time of year.

This is my biggest fear as well --losing my children.
This could have so easily happened to us when Maggie was diagnosed with diabetes. She came very close to dying and yes she had had symptoms but they were scattered and we didn't connect the dots until later.
I am just sick about this and am praying with all my heart!

I deleted my post...for those of you that might have read it, that's okay with me...I just realized after a few minutes that it would bother me tremendously to run into those fears in writing every time I visited this part of the board, I still a little too close to those difficult moments to leave them hanging out in cyberspace, you know. This is what we went through for almost two years, although not from Social Services. Every area of our life was investigated and questioned, especially our Faith and our educational choices. While the legal system may no longer be involved, the effect on children (and parents) is devastating.

Yes, 3 years ago. A spite call from a neighbor. It was awful. Molly had just gotten out of the NICU at the time. I don't think I've recovered fully from it - I am far too paranoid. I cannot imagine having to deal with that during a family crisis. Guilty until proven innocent - it's just not right.

Perhaps we could pray together for all mothers and fathers facing the cross of unfounded investigations?
If anyone knows a good novena to the Holy Family, we could start it on Sunday, their feast day...surely Mary and Joseph knew these worries and fears, too...

I have been a few times.
Years ago, my 22 month old hit my 4 month old with a pan upside the head. Obviously, this was a suspicious story to the ER dr  and they called DCFS.
My 4 month old died unexpectantly, (he did have health problems, but nothing that should have ended his life suddenly) and that is a mandatory investigation.
The third time, a malicious neighbor called in with a false accusation. And since it was my third call, I got the full works  It was very stressful and I was skittish for a long time afterward.
Lots and lots of prayers and good friends helped me through it.
