I have been carrying the same great diaper bag for over ten years. It is a backpack diaper bag from One Step Ahead. These days I am not needing something as big and am looking for something else. However, I do still need plenty of room for a diaper, wipes, tissues, and all that mom stuff that won't go away even when ds is out of diapers.
I have a small purse from Eddie Bauer that I have had for years, too. I like it but it is too small. I have another purse that is large but I just can't seem to make it work for me. I find I have to dig for my keys and cell phone every time.
So, what is your favorite bag or purse? What do you like about it? My diaper bag has a "mom" section that holds my wallet and cell phone and is very handy. Then it has pockets meant for bottles where my keys go.
I am looking at some of the clearance Vera Bradley totes on Amazon, debating which, if any, would work for me.
Thanks!

Molly,
My favorite is the Vera bradley, Vera, in Puccini. It's on sale for $40.
I love all the interior pockets!
I can't link right now but the sale going on with certain colors over on Vera bradley right now are crazy!

I have a itty-bitty 'purse'. It's a wallet sized waist pouch just big enough to hold my plastic, a comb, money and my PDA (or cellphone). I don't tend to need more on solitary trips.
My diaper bag is simply an overnight bag with a front pocket.
Inside I have a First Years diaper kit (the mat folds up over two pockets for holding diapers and wipes) which can be removed easily and fastened on a stroller or popped in a different bag if need be and a small zipped bag with a change of clothing for the baby and a smaller first aid kit (three zippers to get at the bandaids reduces the chance of them ending up on the floor- I don't carry painkillers or other pills).
The rest of the bag carries whatever else is needed that trip (more diapers in the outside pocket) mitts, hats, church toys....

I have the GIANT Dooney & Bourke All Weather Leather drawstring bucket.
It is many, many years old and still quite lovely.
And, believe me it has been through the wringer, twice!
It will hold everything, hasn't gone out of style and is VERY sturdy.
And, I mean very sturdy - I am hard on purses.

I couldn't find what I wanted.. not a diaper bag, not a purse.. I finally found exactly what I wanted in LUGGAGE Yep a carry on bag with a bigger pouch that I can carry all the baby stuff in plus some, a smaller one that's great for my wallet and other little things.. a back thin open pocket that I can drop things into easily.. a couple of water bottle holders on the sides.. which can have keys dropped in them or a sunglasses case etc.

I have one major requirement for any purse or bag that I will use --it has to have a light colored interior. This old lady's eyesight isn't what it used to be and I find dark interiors to be frustrating when I am trying to find something in a bag. I have found most bags do NOT have light interiors though so I usually end up having to make my own.
I do have a VB bag that I like as far as print and style but the interior is too difficult to find things in.
And really my eyes aren't that bad but something about digging around in the dark of a bag irritates me to no end.

Molly - you mean like the one from LL Bean?
This is what I got for my (no laughing) dad.
I had to get the manly leather option.
He loves it, btw.
And hauls it everyplace. From a short day trip to hunting.

I have a Healthy Back purse in leather and it doesn't feel good to me. I'm almost 5'3" and that may have something to do with it. The pockets are FANTASTIC, but it pulls on my shoulder to the point that it hurts my neck if I wear if for a while. I do put alot in it and they are expensive, but they just didn't work for me.
I would LOVE, the Vera Bradley, black microfiber back pack. It's dressy, roomy, has lots of pockets, and allows me to distribute the weight between both shoulders, and keeps me handsfree. I'm even willing to purchase a used one but I can't find one. If you know of one or know of a sale that includes that purse let me know!
