Okay some of you may remember this thread about buying a machine. We went with the machine that Costco has had this Fall.

Now I'd like to get a CD or two...but oh my, the selection is huge!

Anyone have any recommendations? Faves? This is for dd age 14 (almost 15), she likes all sorts of music.

So any particular favorites? For instance a big hit here was the music from High School Musical. The ones I tend to find most appealing myself are the ones from movies that I like to sing along with.

I can't think of any favorites off hand.

When I went to Amazon there were all these different compilations from different companies. So I'm curious is the music going to sound the same, or have these companies "redone" the music, kwim? If they don't mess with the music, like no odd remixes, then I guess I can just go by song titles that seem appealing.

I just didn't know if some compilations would generally be better than others?

The quality of CD+G's (karaoke discs) can really vary as to the quality of the music and the correctness of the lyrics. Sometimes you just don't know what to expect until you get it home.

Sound Choice have been an industry standard for a long time. As you can see on their website they have compilation discs in addition to their Spotlight series which often focus on a specific group/artist.
