Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

For the fourth time in 8 months my laptop is broken, same problem each time The AC stem cracked off so the computer can't be plugged in to charge. Toshiba is "aware" of the issue with this model and have always fixed it promptly. I am worried though as I only have 5 months left on the warranty    It is a $200 repair. Does anyone know about lemon laws, or such that might apply? I love the function of the computer, but obviously this is a major problem!

Have you tried asking for another model?
Or asking for compensation instead?
They probably wouldn't give enough for a new laptop, but even half the cost might be worth it to get something more reliable. Even if the compensation is only towards another toshiba.
Also call around to repair shops and ask if there's a better way to correct the problem than just repair. Can they replace it with a better part for you? Granted that would probably void your warrenty though.

Also ask for them to extend your warrenty if nothing else. It is easy for them to do.

Just some late night ideas.

I know you can contact the Attorney General of your state and their consumer affairs division will get involved. They do in Minnesota.
