Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

This is a very different subject or question but I could really use some of your suggestions! For the children I have a variety of plastic cups for them to drink out of. For adults, especially when we have company, I've had an assortment of anchor hocking type glasses. But they are all broken except for 2!. THen I can't find the same set to replenish the set.

These glasses break in the dishwasher and at the hands of my not-so-graceful son who unloads the dishes for me. Does this happen to any of you? Have you found some glasses that are more durable?

When we have company over, I keep having to buy disposable cups so that we have enough to go around.

I have a similar problem with coffee cups. The cups and saucers that came with my cheap set of dishes are too small. It's funny to see big men trying to hold the handles of these cups. But I don't have alot of money to spend. What do you all use?

Thanks to all in advance!

Duralex drinking glasses in 3 sizes. The small and medium are used most often. We have had very few breakages and some of the ones we use are from before our house fire almost 7 years ago.
Got them online on sale, Williams and Sonoma maybe I would do a google search.

Fiestaware mugs. I have the smaller handled ones but maybe the larger handled ones might work. We have a mix of colors and I add as I see good prices. There is a website that I found with google that had better shipping prices than Amazon and Ebay.

We use mugs for the kids since they do not break as quickly as glasses.

I like smooth rimless glasses that I buy at IKEA. They are inexpensive and easy to replace, too.
Don uses 32 ounce Taco Bell cups all the time . (It took me a while to adjust to this, as he would ask for a cup of diet Coke, and I would fill a coffee cup. I am now well trained in his mysterious dialect).

i second the ikea suggestion. they're cheap and pretty enough to not look cheap -- those are the ones that have lasted the longest here at home.

years ago i also had some from crate and barrel that lasted a long time (i think they were made in france but i can't remember the brand now) -- so if you've got one near you they might be worth a try (esp. when on sale!)

The kids use plastic cups from IKEA. We use larger plastic cups for everyday, and have glasses from the Martha Stewart collection at KMart for guests, etc. For everyday coffee, we have a bunch of unmatched mugs (with big handles), for guests, I have glass mugs. I do use the smaller cups and saucers that match our dishes for coffee/tea, too, it just depends on the occasion.

Wow! I don't have an IKEA store in Florida, and I'm down in Miami. But it sure looks like a great store!

I did find an online store that had duralex glasses. I may look at that. Martha Stewart glasses look nice too.

I'm going to do a search for Fiestaware now.

I also use Ikea glasses. We don't have an Ikea close by but once went to the one in Houston. It is a great store.
I grew up using water goblets for every meal. At my house we use goblets I found at the dollar store. They are sturdy and cheap without looking cheap. We have enjoyed them.
