Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I have this cool idea to get my kids their own MP3's and load music and things that are good for them to listen too.
Dd is almost 7 and ds is 12.
I was hoping, at least for dd, to get something I could hook up to speakers for nighttime music. Both my kids go to sleep to nice quiet music.
They can also use them to listen to on trips and such.
ARe there any you recommend? Speakers/systems or MP3 players. I struggle with dd who is a young 7-- and not too quick. I don't want to get something that will frustrate her.
I have an MP3 but am still learning how to get things on it and play them.
THanks,
Anne

I did this exact same thing for my kids last Christmas. It was a big hit! My best suggestions:

If you are able to download audio books from your library, make sure you choose a player that is compatible with that service. They should have a list to reference.

Get at least 2gb. It's surprising how much space a few audiobooks can take up.

Check woot.com, amazon.com, newegg.com, buy.com, and tigerdirect.com for good online deals. You can also find speakers for your mp3 on these sites.

Allow yourself plenty of time to load up your mp3's before Christmas. It takes longer than you might think.

Hope you can find what you need!

I have sisters who are the same age as your children and they handle the iPod shuffles pretty well. I don't know if that would fit your needs though!
