Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I thought I'd ask for suggestions for my 14 yr old girl. She's a sweetie who LOVES to read. There is hardly anything worthy that she has not read yet though. I am getting her a book for one of her Christmas presents. Her birthday was this week and we had thought we were going to get her a purity ring. But I think we want to take our time with that and do some special times together so that she realizes the significance of it. So, now I'm stumped for gifts for her!

She has alot of crafting things but she doesn't use them. She's either playing (basketball or scooter) or reading. Once we find a house and move in, she will be getting a new bedroom set so that she and her sister don't have to share a bed anymore. Maybe I should just wait for that? I'd really like her to have something, even if it's small for her on Christmas (besides the book).

Thanks so much!

what about one of the St. Christopher medals for a particular sport?

And what about non-fiction books? maybe some biographies on people she looks up to or a history of basketball? or maybe if she has a particular time period she likes just something from there? or maybe one about doing something she's expressed interest in. Does she perhaps want to use the craft supplies but just isn't sure what to do with them? maybe a book with ideas?

This is a big item, not too expensive. We found for my dd who loves loves loves to read, last year when she was 13, a butterfly chair for her room to sit and read in! It is leopard print, something fun and silly! We got ours at the time at Target, they lots of different styles. And last year it was only $15! Sorry I don't have link for one this year. But just google butterfly chair!

What about the comforter/sheet set in anticipation of her new bedroom set?

I know - you could go out to lunch together and shop together for it....that way she gets the gift of time with you and the present....

Hope that helps at least a little!

Smaller items for a new room might be nice; a crucifix or other items for the wall, perhaps a small display shelf, rug for the floor,a hook to hang a housecoat on, could she use a alarm clock?...

A larger item could be a hope chest or the promise of same.

Ana
I could have written your post except my girl is 16 and plays soccer.

Two gifts I'm buying that go with her passions are; a stainless steel water bottle and a hammock. That way she will get some fresh air whilst reading
I'm sure you know that she will be getting a couple of books too.
