Inspired by this thread I got thinking.
How do you display all the cards you receive each year? I haven't got a big enough place to prop them all up on. I'll most likely tape ours on our front door (that's what my mom has done ever since I can remember) but was just wondering if anyone else had any other things they do.

Jen,
I bought Christmas type fabric from the store and made a banner. Think the very long banners that hang on the sides of the alter.
I pin (with Christmas colored safety pins) the cards to the banner and we hang the banner from a hook in our living room.
We used to tape them to the door but as you read in the other thread its getting a bit out of control with the number of cards so the banner works well until after Epiphany and then they get put into our Christmas book.

We have very limited space and taping to the door doesn't work so well because the tape has a hard time stickign to a cold door.
there's an open doorway between the living room and kitchen.. I put the cards over and around that on the living room side.

We have a large arch between our kitchen and family room. We hang the cards around the arch as we get them. At the top of the arch we hang a nativity scene plaque.
After Christmas, the sentimental value cards are saved, but the vast majority get dissected for Christmas crafts the following year.

I put them on the buffet between our kitchen and living room. The kids love to pour over them!

We have an arched Christmas card holder that I got ages ago at some home party/show. I don't even remember which company. It keeps them up and visible.

They go in a holiday themed basket.
Then,into a scrapbook which is out for the whole Christmas season--and sometimes longer.
We really enjoy having photos and Christmas letters/notes from each year in a scrapbook. I begin each year with the letter and photos we send. We actually have 3 books now.
We love getting cards/letter/photos and comparing how children have grown and people have changed over the years. The books also provide a "record" of when things happened. "When did Uncle Brian and Aunt Cathy get married?" "When was Philip born?" "When did they move?"
And, they are the easiest scrapbook pages I ever do. I just paste them in and I'm done!

My childhood home had an arch between the living room and dining room. We started out by taping the cards along the insides of the arch, and any that didn't fit went on the dining room wall. I think we would sometimes arrange them around a wreath or something. We had an especially large number of cards to work with when I was in grammar school.
Cards usually end up magneted on the fridge these days but that would not be my ideal decor plan. We used to have this fabric-covered thing, I forget its exact name, French something, kind of like a memo board or bulletin board, that I would also use to display things -- but that was also magnetic so the fridge was the easiest place for me to keep it. We use the side of the fridge that is otherwise just a blank white wall facing the dining room.
