Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I receive next to nothing in the way of catalogues or magazines in the mail, and lately I have had a longing to find some lovely Christmas catalogue awaiting me in the mailbox...mostly so that I have an excuse to sit down and make a cup of tea, ignore the messes around me, and thumb through something pretty .

What are your favorite Christmas catalogues?

I like the Williamsburg one, the Williams Sonoma one, and for kids I love Hearthsong. All should allow you to request a catalog.

cup of tea.. me too!

For me, the Country House, Signals, Pottery Barn (totally dreaming there!) and Plow and Hearth. Brookstone is full of really cool gadgets and such, but way too expensive!

For the kids, Magic cabin and Hearthsong.

For dh, Cabela's, of course!

I love the Vermont Country Store and Lehmans, I could spend a fortune at each trying to live a more "simple life."

My favorite time of year when the catalogs come!

I just received Monastery Greetings, featuring products created by monasteries and convents.

Also love Chinaberry!

I used to love Vermont Country Store. They now have some products that are a little too intimate. Check through the catalog before you let your children look or you may have to explain things you don't want to. One catalog that came this week didn't have anything objectionable, the next one did.

I contacted the company and was told that their more "mature" customers had requested such items and didn't want to have to buy them from other less-discreet places.

Anyway, be warned. I love the rest of their stuff. I just wish I could afford those flannel nightgowns for my girls!
