Does anyone know where I can find knit long sleeved tops with a longer, fitted look? I have absolutely no longer tops (except for maternity) and I only like longer ones (covering the derriere) - but I prefer fitted to "tent like" ones. Of course juniors has them but they are way too tight and horrible thin clingy material. Now that it is chilly, I need to find something....

Lands End just came out with different "fits". Their Fit 1 is a modern, slim fit and also cut long. I so do not have the figure for this type of top so I can't personally vouch for them or anything.

Not really sure Jodie. I am usually XS Petite - though for tops I take regular XS or S as I have very long arms. Now I am only 4m postpartum and need a S or M. I had a couple of nice fitted knit tops for the summer (my sister got me from abroad) and it made a difference to have a nice cut which went over skirts to below the derriere. I like a lot of the Coldwater Creek ones - but I can only afford outlet and the winter stuff is not on sale.

I got a catalog in the mail today Susan - and noticed this. Generally LE tops do not fit well on me - but I will have to look at this.

hmm you might try Sierra Trading Post they can have good prices and often it's the small sizes that they get at a good price. Exactly which styles they have is hit and miss though.

Marilyn,

I found that Target has longer knit tops this season. I am by no means petite but they are even long on me so they'd probably be great for you. Oh and the arms are longer too!

Michele - these look great at a good price. Would even be good for my dd. Just wondering though - how thin is the fabric - do we have to layer?

I went to our Target store this week but there were no long sleeve tops at all. I would order online with the free shipping - but I need to know the quality of the fabric.

Thanks everyone too for the suggestions. Great links Suzanne - but SO MANY places to look at I don't know where to start!

You would definitely want to layer as these are not thick knits. Heavier knits are hard to find these days and you won't find them at that price for sure. I personally prefer layering as I tend to get overly warm but as I recall you don't have a lot of "built in insulation" so I am guessing you get cold more easily than I would.

I just have to update you all - I finally found the right top - the Lands End modern fit is just perfect for me - I do not buy petites in tops - the XS is the right fit and length - the fabric is no way as thin as Target or other juniors, and does not need layering. I also got a lovely long cotton cardigan from Lands end. For Christmas etc I got this lovely top in redto go with a black velvet skirt!

I am feeling quite glamorous....

lovely.. I just got a mock neck from lands end and I really like it.. nice fit to it and not too thin (a 1x so apparently their fit tends to be good through sizes ) it's a pretty creamy white with a emerald green pattern.. feels quite cheerful without having to wear red
