Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I saw this cute/funny game on another board (and they admitted they took it from yet another board...). I thought we could use some more lighthearted threads.

This is a *lighthearted* look at our little peculiarities. Don't pick something too serious! The next person answers truthfully "No, I don't think less of you...do you think less of me for _______" You can add your own little comments about what others have said (of course keeping it nice!)

I'll start:

Would you think less of me if you knew how much I love Spaghettios?

or that I almost *never* wear an apron and can often be found wiping my hands on my jeans?

OK, someone elses turn...remember, keep it lighthearted and fun!

Of course I don't think less of you!

Would you think less of me if you knew that I generally only bathe my children 1x a week? (on Saturday night before church)

and that I *love* Mountain Dew soda (mmm-sugar AND caffeine! what a treat) but I'm trying to cut down from my 20 oz. a day habit.

and...here's one more I almost never cook from scratch...lots of packaged food here. I'm constantly trying to improve that, but it's a huge struggle.

Next?

I get giddy over Friday night 80's on the local rock station.

I have been caught watching "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" - and trust me - they ain't real housewives...

i would never think less of (any of) you!

would you think less of me if you knew that we loved sugary-sweet cereal like Cookie Crisp and Cinnamon Toast Crunch, and we eat it all the time?

or that my ds10 considers Brown Sugar Cinnamon poptarts its own food group that must be eaten at least once a day?

I spend many an evening knitting whilst watching dh play Playstation 3... Do those two activities go together? (Oh and I talk his ear off too.... but I do be quiet if he needs to concentrate.)

Amy, I absolutely LOVE spaghettios, and all of my kids do too!

altho they just sent an ambassador to the door to ask if I'm okay because I've been in here a rather long time.

Shoot... how can I beat that?

"I ate the last hoho in the laundry room" so doesn't do it.

Nope, don't think any less of you. Would you think less of me knowing that I do the same thing, without the iPhone and with M&M's??

You DO know, that the bathroom door is the 'seat of Solomon', don't you?

Think of all the wise answers you have to come up with at the other side of it! And it seems it is only THEN that they imperatively need your guidance and wisdom.

...Just thought I would throw that in there...
My mom tells me that she remembers running in there with the last piece of chocolate layer cake when we were kids. We were on the other side of the door banging loudly and exclaiming: "We KNOW what you are doing in THERE!!" and she says:
"and I gratefully choked the whole darn thing down"

..and you need to do what my ds has learned about that kind of thing....don't forget to brush your teeth

Too, too funny, Martha.

Would you think less of me if you knew that our family loves books...to death.

Someday, we will learn to treat them like the treasures they are, but I'm afraid my kids get it from me, too. I lay books pages down to mark my place, all the covers of well loved paperbacks are curled and bent (though, I don't bend them back around while reading!), and the boys books look like they've been through a war! I recently had to rebind together my copy of Divine Intimacy because it was in four pieces.

I am so glad to hear that! My "goal" is twice a week, but with all these girls with long hair, I often put it off until Saturday night when I have no choice. I just spent a week with a dear friend who bathed her little ones every night. Boy, did I feel like a bad mom!

Oh, and Lisbet, I love 80's night! My kids think it is so funny to watch me dance around the kitchen to Depeche Mode or the GoGos.

Martha, too funny the way you worded that!

I don't think less of you all, I think more of you because for once you all seem perfectly human to me. ;)

Would you think less of me if you knew that the only thing I have left to do on my "do before I die" list is to go out to a bar with dh and get just enough intoxicated to sing karaoke, loud & clear?

My sister used to do that with her 2 little ones, so she's always teasing me. Even when I had fewer kids, I didn't do it every night. That's just excessive, imho!
