Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

This is our first year with a name for our homeschool. I had to laugh at my son's sense of humor... read about it here

School of All Saints here!

(BTW I named the school because I could not find one saint that I could say was my favorite)

Mimi--We are All Saints Academy for the very same reason...ours is named because in Louisiana one of our homeschooling options is to declare your home a non-accredited private school, so you have to give it a name.

Recently we were discussing a name for our school. We seriously considered St. Joan of Arc Academy and Padre Pio School. But we are still laughing at ds' suggestion, Saint of the Day School!!

we're The Whimsical Academy on our ID's and stuff.

(on my dd's transcripts, however, we used "Divine Mercy Academy" - so it was more officially-sounding. )

(i was going to change it, so it would always be more serious sounding, and so i asked DH for help with names. He replied with, "But i thought we were The Whimsical Academy? I *like* that!" so - there ya go... )

We had to have a name in NC, but don't have to have one here in OK. We were the Hedgerow Academy, btw.

We used to be The Linnean Academy of Science and Fun when ds was 8 and we tried homeschooling for a year. This year he's 14 and his sister and brother will both be home. They're not into science like he is. Not sure what to call ourselves this year. I just asked him and he said, "For real or just for fun?"

Party-pooper.

The name we chose for our home school, when we filed our affidavit with the state, is Our Lady of Perpetual Help Academy.

We have a name for our school, for filling out teacher discount cards, ordering catalogs, and such.

St. Joseph Academy for Wayward Children.

Ours is Don Bosco Universal Academy.

Don Bosco after St. John Bosco who started schools for boys in Italy. Universal as a reminder that we can learn anywhere. Academy because we want to be more than "just a school."

As mentioned on the other thread, our motto is "Learning for the fun of it!" And my mil just embroidered our logo on polo shirts for us, so we are ready for school!

Holy Family Academy here. Had to have a name for paperwork. Not at all original but it was what I came up with at the time and now I'm scared to change it since it's "official" and all!

Your son's is better, and much more realistic!!!
Love it!

We "have to" name ours when we file for exemption with the DOE in NE, too. Christ the King Home School. I discerned a vocation with the a teaching order, the School Sisters of Christ the King so the devotion to Jesus Christ, our King has been important to me and it stuck.

(Gentle King, Love Incarnate, reigning from the throne of Your crib... Crucified King, Priest and Victim, reigning from the throne of Your cross... Eucharistic King, consuming Fire of Love, reigning from the throne of Your tabernacle... Majestic King, Savior and Redeemer, reigning from Your throne in heaven... )

St. Mary's Academy - name by my oldest when she was 5. I could not pick a single Marian Name, so we went universal.
