I have a good friend who is 35 weeks pregnant. Normally she dresses modestly and attractively. The last few weeks all she has been wearing are cotton knit dresses gathered under her chest. They were knee length when she had less of a belly, but now are about mid-thigh. We there yesterday, and she kept flashing us My teen age sons were quite uncomfortable.
How do I tell her? I am sure she just doesn't realize how much they are pulled up now. I try not to say negative things to very pregnant women but I know I would want someone to mention that to me.
Any words of wisdom would be appreciated

I don't know.. it's so hard when you don't know the people being asked about.
I think I'd start with.. I'm sure you can't tell at this point.. but your dress is being pulled really high in the front. I bet it would look cute with a pair of knit capri's.
That way you communicate that you don't think it's done on purpose, what the problem is, and a possible solution.

Do you have any pregnancy skirts/dresses you could "loan" her? Just show up with a wonderfully cold, refreshing slushie and casually mention you've found in the last few weeks of your own pregnancies, you've noticed your regular dresses all of a sudden, feel very short

Unfortunately she is about 6 sizes smaller than me
She can take offense easily to perceived criticism, so that is why I am cautious to say anything. But I know she normally works hard at being modestly dressed and would definitely adjust her clothing if she knew she was exposing so much.

I would tell her what you just told us:
"I know you work very hard to dress modestly, so as a friend who respects your modesty, I thought you would appreciate me telling you your dresses have become very short...."

I say you have to risk upsetting her. I agree that you could just say what Jenny said, or what Jodie said with the suggestion of capris.
She may be angry at first (probably more embarrassed) but I think that she will realize that you are only speaking as a friend and be grateful later.
