Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I've never been one for celebrating New Year's (it always came whether or not I stayed up for it!) but this year I am VERY GRATEFUL to be closing the door on 2005. I just wanted to thank all of you for all your help these past four months. (I can't believe it's only been four months since Katrina. Seems like much longer!) Thank you so much for the books and DVD's. Thank you for the letters of encouragement and the emails. But most of all, thank you for all your prayers. Sometimes they were the only thing that kept me going. I have so much to be thankful for tonight. We are together as a family, we have a home and furniture and clothes and books and all the other things I will never take for granted again. I've come to realize that everything that happened was for a purpose-and I may never know God's true purpose for it, but I do know that I am much stronger now, as a person and as a mother. I am looking forward to 2006-never as a new year felt like such a fresh start.
Ok, I'm rambling again. I can never get my thoughts out like I want to! I'll leave the book writing to you guys. Just wanted to say thank you, with all my heart.
Jennifer

Dear Jennifer,
You have my prayers for a very blessed, peaceful, even boring New Year!

Jennifer, that was beautifully said. God placed us in community for a reason. I am immensely blessed by this community too. May God grant you and your family a peaceful and joy-filled year.

I have been following your story this year via your posts, and, like you, I have my own special reasons for hoping that 2006 will be better than 2005. I wish you all the best for a wonderful, blessed new year.

Jane.
